1. Choose the right container
You can start seeds in almost any type of container, including balcony patios, as long as the container is at least 3 inches deep and has some drainage holes. You can also choose to cultivate hanging vines or open ground climbing in outdoor gardens, vegetable gardens or open spaces.
2.Soil selection
Choose deep, loose soil for planting, with a spacing of 30 to 40cm between plants.
3. Planting
Plant the seeds directly on the surface and bury them with soil.
4. Water and fertilize
Fertilizer for Emerald melons is mainly phosphorus and potash, and watering is enough twice a week.
5. Lighting
Emerald melons does not have strict lighting requirements and can grow normally in semi-shady or sunny places.
6. Pruning
Emerald melons does not need to be pruned, it will grow naturally.
If you can do this, congratulations, in a few months you will have a large area of delicious and sweet Emerald melons (fruit ripening period is from May to August).
Tips: Cut off watering 1 week before harvest. This will give a more flavorful, concentrated melon. Over watering before harvest can cause bland taste.
AVG. Direct Seeding Rate: 30 seeds/10′, 100 seeds/50′ 1M/500′, 15M/acre at 3 seeds every 18″ in rows 6′ apart.
