I’m Helen, a mother of three wonderful kids.

My life used to be picture-perfect until my husband started drinking heavily. It all began about two years ago when my oldest was seven and my youngest son was just three. The drinking led to violent outbursts, and our home, once filled with love and laughter, became a place of fear and pain.

I had no job and no means to support myself and my children, so I stayed, hoping things would get better. But this May, after another drunken rage, he not only hit me but also hurt my eldest daughter. That was the breaking point. After the divorce, I moved in with my sister, who has been my rock through all of this. She introduced me to one of her friends who owns a large nursery.
